Virtual Backgrounds has had great success in 2007 training users and potential users how to take full advantage of all of the tools that Virtual Backgrounds Systems provide. Whether you have a new, used or refurbished system, attending one of these very informative and hands-on training classes will help you to fully utilize your system which in turn helps you grow your business!

Virtual Backgrounds training classes are three days long. The first day is spent going over in great detail how Virtual Backgrounds works. The second day is largely spent with attendees behind the camera using the system for themselves and getting assistance and feedback from the course instructor. Many ideas on both the utilization and marketing of Virtual Backgrounds are exchanged.

On the third day, a guest speaker is brought in to demonstrate how he or she is creatively using the system. The guest speaker also shares real-life experience and marketing ideas, and gives you a sneak peek inside their successful businesses. In 2006, guest speakers such as Rick Avalos, Rick Harding, Dave Filler, April Helsel, and Trevon Baker shared their knowledge with the attendees.

In addition to gaining knowledge about Virtual Backgrounds and learning how other successful photographers are using and marketing their own systems, many of the attendees use the class as a great way to network with other photographers from all over the world. We have had photographers from Australia, the Philippines, Canada, Mexico, and Korea attend our training sessions as well as photographers from all over the continental United States. When you attend a class, you grow as a photographer and a business person in so many ways that the rewards are endless!

Grand Opening for New Learning and
Demonstration Center at Virtual Backgrounds!

Virtual Backgrounds is dedicated to providing professional photographers from around the world valuable education that involves the use of Virtual Backgrounds.  We are developing a comprehensive educational program called the “Learn and Earn” program. In preparation for the 2007 line up of monthly workshops and guest speakers, we have opened our new 1,500 square foot classroom/demonstration center.

The new facility features a full studio set up with a 10 x 12 foot background screen.  Each of the Virtual Backgrounds projectors can be demonstrated in this state of the art studio!

The very first class held in the new facility was the Joseph and Louise Simone seminar in January.  In addition to the regular Virtual Backgrounds workshops held each month, a variety of other well known speakers will be conducting seminars in the new facility including Larry Peters, Greg Stangl, and Ralph Romaguera.  Watch for special announcements in future issues of The Backgrounder.

Winners Announced for the 2006
Annual Print Competition

With more than 100 entries submitted for this year's Annual Print Competition, the judges found it very difficult to select the winners.  The work submitted was exceptional.

First Place was awarded to Jessica Laredo de Sierra from Saltillo Mexico.  Jessica has been using the Scene Machine for only 5 months but her work is astounding.  Quoting Jessica, “I love this machine more than ever because it already is getting me school contracts that I could not get otherwise.”  Jessica is continually coming up with new ideas for her Virtual Backgrounds system.

Second Place went to Dave Filler of Kalispell, Montana.  Dave has been using his Scene Machine for much of the work that he produces.

Third Place went to Teri Quance of Cypress, Texas.   She has been using her Scene Machine for a little over a year and producing outstanding work!

A total of $2,247 in prizes were awarded to the first, second and third place winners.  We'd to thank each of our generous sponsors: Albums Inc, Buckeye Color Lab, The Levin Company, Nichols Photo Lab, Photogenic, Virtual Backgrounds, Web Photo Supply, and The F. J. Westcott Company.

In addition to the three winners, Virtual Backgrounds has named several prints into the Honorable Mention category. Click here to view all of the winning and honorable mention prints in this year's very competitive print competition.
